THE STORY OF STOP CORRUPTION IN MARYLAND (S.C.I.M)
At approximately 6:45pm on Thursday, February 15. 2018, Thereen Daley an attorney, wife, and business owner went to pick up a friend who was in trouble. The person was 12 minutes away in Aberdeen. Unbeknownst to Thereen six minutes into that 12-minute drive on a backroad in Harford County her life would change forever.
Thereen was stopped by Aberdeen Police Officer Pietrogiacomo. He attacked her for no reason and although she had not been drinking Thereen was charged with DUI. She would spend the next several hours having seizures and receiving no medical attention, denied a sanitary napkin and made to sit in her own blood for hours. She would later be falsely accused of assaulting Police Officer Pietrogiacomo in the precinct. She would be denied access to the precinct video for over three years. The video which provided evidence that the officer without provocation assaulted Thereen and highlighted numerous lies in the Statement of Charges was hidden from her by the State and her own attorneys. One of these attorneys, Erik Atas, would be rewarded with a judgeship by Governor Larry Hogan for betraying his client and his oath.
When Thereen left the precinct, it was not on her own two feet. She left on a stretcher, wearing a neck brace, carried out by two paramedics. But the worst was yet to come. Thereen learned about a criminal justice system that was far worse than she could ever imagine. The corruption and abuse she experienced through her involvement with the Harford County criminal system was what one would expect in the Jim Crow South or Communist China not modern-day Maryland.
Thereen spoke out. She and others wrote letters, sent emails, made calls and even visited people and places to try to obtain justice. Instead, Thereen nearly died in the process. Although Thereen was sober and merely drove that evening to pick up a friend, she:
Had her mail stolen
Had mail and packages tampered with
Gained a criminal conviction
Lost her Driver’s License
Lost her bar license.
Lost her home
Lost her business
Is now financially devastated
Is being cyberstalked
Has been Cyberbullied
Had her home burglarized
Had evidence in her case stolen and/or destroyed
Had her locks and doors damaged
Is constantly having her personal, professional and medical information rifled through
Had unknown substances placed on items throughout her home
Is currently stalked
Is currently harassed
Had her bank account tampered with
Had spyware placed on her devices
Had a noose hung mere feet from her bedroom window
Had no help from law enforcement
Had family members harassed and devices hacked
This is just some of what Thereen has endured because she investigated and spoke out about the horrors of corruption in the State of Maryland. Since February 15, 2018, attorneys, residents and former residents of Harford County warned us about people’s lives being torn apart because they spoke out about what happened to them in Harford County or the corruption, racism and injustices people suffer because they simply tell the truth about a barbaric system ran by Joseph Casilly for four decades.
A female African immigrant who had been living in Harford County for six years stated, “the Black people here have PTSD. They have suffered such abuse from the police and racism just walking into stores you would think this is a third world country.” A male Uber driver, an immigrant from Pakistan said he installed a dashboard camera because of police officers rushing into his car pulling out riders. “It isn’t the customers I worry about. The police do whatever they want here, and I want to make sure it is recorded.”
This website is mostly about what has happened to Thereen. But other people’s stories are told along the way. We want to know your story. We want to Stop Corruption in Maryland by sharing your stories and by forcing agencies like the Department of Justice and the FBI to do their job. People are losing their lives because of corruption by government actors in places like Harford County and throughout Maryland. We want Thereen and others to finally have the normal life they deserve and justice for the injustice they have endured.
We ask each and everyone of you to contact the Department of Justice for the District of Maryland and plead with newly appointed United States Attorney Erek Barron to help Thereen and others like her. Decades of abuse, harassment, false imprisonment, unexplained deaths and the destruction of hardworking Marylanders’ lives must stop now! No more allowing these government entities to place blame or create false narratives of criminality and mental illness to coverup politicians and other government employees’ crimes against the public.
